SATWHERE
is a satellite pass prediction and earth viewer program.

It is the latest in state of the art software and designed to take advantage of current computer technology such as multicore processors by distributing the calculating load to every processor available in the system (For the technologically inclined: SatWhere is heavily multihreaded). We also feature both a 32-bit and 64-bit edition of SatWhere, with SatWhere you are ready for the Windows Vista upgrade in 2006, ready to experience the 30% performance increase just by using a 64-bit software on your existing hardware (only if it's 64-bit compatible of course)!

    SATWHERE features:
  • Generate a passlist for satellites selected from a list of more than 8000 satellites!
  • Display the precise passing times of satellites at your selected location.
  • Display the azimuth and elevation of the satellites as they're passing in realtime!.
  • Predicts iridium flares and lunar passes for your selected location.
  • Visualize the passes in the overhead view (called Skyview) and an earth view, which shows the selected satellites positions, trajectories, current cloud cover and day/night.
  • Earthview displays seasonal daylight images, one for every month. See the snowcover in the northern hemisphere winter!
  • Satellite predictions are calculated using the SGP4 / SDP4 Model.
  • Multithreaded on all computing intensive calculations, thus fully supports multiprocessor systems
  • Designed for autonomous operation, from keeping your computers clock accurate to auto updating the Kepler elements
  • Features the Yale Bright Star Catalogue as well as Solar/Lunar information in the Skyview Window
  • This is the only satellite software that features a passlist with countdowns
  • The passlist is easy to understand thanks to our clever passlist coloring scheme: The whiter a pass entry, the higher its maximum elevation will be, if the line is red, the satellite is   visible but lower than 10 degrees, if it's green, the sat is visible and higher than 10 degrees above the horizon
  • The integrated Event Log window will always keep you informed on what the software is doing. No annoying dialogs need to be clicked away! (Except for the demo notification)
  • Both the Earthview and Skyview window backgrounds can be simply clicked and dragged into the position and angles you would like them to see.
  • All functions are intuitively accessible in context menus, no redundancies or space wasting menus!
  • Tasks can be automated, such as screenshots, which can then be uploaded to a webserver. Programs or scripts can also be triggered automatically.
  • Everything is highly optimized, including resource usage. You will see that for what the program does, it is quite compact. Everything that can be compressed has been compressed and is only expanded when used.
  • Built in Update notification.
  • And finally, SatWhere was not developed by some hobbyist but by renowned software developer and published Astronomer Balthasar Indermuehle, a software developer with over 13 years of Windows programming experience and a Master of Science degree in Astronomy.
